This year, as in 2010, the Braunschweigische Stiftung is supporting the creation of an artistic work for Lichtparcours. To
finance the new work ... But No One's Home by Kevin Schmidt, fluorescent Lichttaler have been produced, which every
benefactor of the project will receive as a thank you for their contribution. Event sponsor, the Sparda-Bank Hannover eG,
has pledged to double each incoming donation.
To kick off the fundraiser, please join us for the Lichttalerfest on April 27, at 5:00 pm at Gartenhaus Haeckel in
Theatrepark, Theaterwall 19.
Our guest, Canadian artist Kevin Schmidt, will present a preview of his installation on the house.
The evening will be accompanied by musicians from the Staatsorchester Braunschweig. Catering will be provided.
Admission is free.
Well over a year before the start of Lichtparcours 2016, 15 invited artists presented proposals at Kunstverein
Braunschweig. On the basis of sketches, models, film studies and related works, various working strategies and methods were
demonstrated and clarified. The locations for the respective works in the urban environment were discussed the planned.
Lichtparcours was opened with a kick-off by Lord Mayor Markurth and a presentation of the exhibition concept by Dr. Anja
Hesse (Head of Culture and initiator of Lichtparcours) and Jule Hillgärtner (Director of the Art Association Braunschweig).
Discussions with the artists, along with a snack of sparkling wine and sausage, and guided tours of the exhibition followed.
