House of Science

The House of Science (Haus der Wissenschaft), a lively meeting place centring on research, as well as knowledge and technology transfer, is currently being set up in the former Kanthochschule, which used to be a teacher training college, next to the Natural History Museum. Changing exhibitions, lectures and discussions will be held here for interested members of the general public and specialized audiences alike. The House of Science will also be open to the region's businesses and is aiming to develop into a forum in which scientists and business people can meet and develop new projects, collaborations and "future recipes" in the true sense of the "Kitchen of Ideas Braunschweig".

The City of Braunschweig, the Technical University Braunschweig, ForschungRegion Braunschweig e.V. (BraunschweigResearchRegion) as well as the trade associations Arbeitgeberverband Region Braunschweig e.V. and "UNION" Kaufmännischer Verein von 1818 e.V. have already agreed to run this ambitious project jointly. A limited company is to be founded in the autumn for this purpose.

The first events held under the name of the "House of Science Braunschweig" will be staged before the building is opened. Apart from lectures on the history of the "House", open dialogues on current scientific issues are primarily planned at various locations in Braunschweig.
