In fresh water, 8.33 percent of a block of ice is visible above the surface.
This floating hillock of light and reflections measures some 10 by 9 by 8 meters, and consists of a wooden substructure covered on all sides with precisely fitted plastic mirrors.
Mounted on a system of floating pontoons, the crystalline sculpture is anchored in the middle of the pond, but free to turn slowly in the breeze around its own axis. At night, six spotlights bathe the piece in light. As the mirrored surfaces gently bob and turn, they throw unexpected reflections into the surrounding environment. In daylight, the installation is visible from afar, glittering in the sun and doubled in the bright surface of the water.
