Appearing Rooms is a water pavilion consisting of four outside walls of water on a square base, subdivided internally by four more water walls into several smaller rooms. The individual sheets of water rise and fall, open and close at intervals of ten seconds, each time inscribing new configurations upon the space before rearranging themselves again.

Visitors can enter the pavilion and move from room to room inside it, constantly finding themselves in new, unexpected spaces and then outside the structure without being able to exert any control. Sited in the Bürgerpark, the water pavilion invites passersby to take part in this refreshing spectacle.
